Defaults.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Things you can make half-asleep:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>eggs and toast<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>pasta with butter and parmesan<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>rice bowl situation<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>soup and bread<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>frozen dumplings and something crunchy<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The goal is not excitement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The goal is preventing the:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cguess I\u2019ll eat crackers again\u201d<br>spiral.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Stop buying ingredients for your fantasy self<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This one hurts a little.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A lot of grocery shopping is optimism shopping.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You buy:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>ambitious vegetables<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>complicated ingredients<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>recipes for a version of yourself that has energy<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Then Wednesday arrives and suddenly the parsley is dissolving in the drawer while you eat peanut butter toast in silence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Buy for the version of you that actually exists after work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That person deserves feeding too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The real luxury is manageable food<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Not gourmet food.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Manageable food.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Food that:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>doesn\u2019t create a disaster in the kitchen<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>doesn\u2019t require emotional resilience<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>doesn\u2019t leave you with twelve dishes and regret<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That\u2019s luxury now.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Tiny kitchen rule that changes everything<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When you cook, make enough for tomorrow\u2019s exhausted self too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Not full meal prep.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Just enough to create one future shortcut.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Extra rice. Extra pasta.
